Terms of Use

1. App Description

Balancium is a mobile application for tracking medication intake, health metrics, and doctor visits. The App allows you to:

• Manage medication intake schedules (regular, stepped, floating, SOS mode);
• Record and track health metrics (blood pressure, heart rate, weight, etc.);
• Plan doctor visits and save doctor contacts;
• Receive local reminders for medication intake, measurements, and visits;
• View reports and intake history;
• Manage multiple profiles for different family members;
• Export reports (CSV/PDF) and back up your data locally with an encrypted backup file.

2. Medical Disclaimer

2.1. The App Is Not a Medical Device

The App is not a medical device, medical software, or a diagnostic tool and is not certified as such. The App is not registered as a medical product with health authorities (FDA, EMA, Roszdravnadzor, etc.).

2.2. The App Does Not Provide Medical Services

The App does not provide medical advice, diagnoses, treatment recommendations, and does not replace consulting a doctor. All information displayed in the App (reminders, schedules, reports, logs) is based solely on data you enter manually.

2.3. User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

• The accuracy of the information you enter (dosages, schedule, medication names);
• Following your treating physician's instructions;
• Not relying on the App as your sole means of controlling medication intake or responding to a medical need;
• Any decisions made based on the App's data.

Always consult a qualified healthcare professional regarding diagnosis, treatment, and medication intake. Do not ignore professional medical advice because of information displayed in the App.

2.4. Emergency Situations

The App is not intended for use in medical emergency situations. In case of a medical emergency, immediately contact your regional emergency services (112, 103, 911, etc.).

3. License to Use

3.1. Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

3.2. Restrictions

You may not:

• Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on the App;
• Decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to extract the App's source code;
• Distribute, sell, rent, or sublicense the App;
• Use the App for commercial purposes without our written consent;
• Remove or alter copyright or trademark notices.

4. Accounts and Profiles

4.1. No Registration Required

The App does not require creating an account, registration, or login. After the required first-run setup and medical disclaimer, the App is available without an online account.

4.2. Profiles

You can create local profiles for different family members. All profile data (name, date of birth, weight, height, avatar) is stored locally on your device. You are responsible for managing profiles and access to the device.

5. Advertising

5.1. Ad Display

The App contains advertising provided by Google AdMob and Yandex Mobile Ads. Ads may include:

• Banner ads;
• Interstitial ads (full-screen ads between actions);
• Rewarded ads (watching an ad to unlock advanced features).

5.2. Advertiser Responsibility

We do not control the content of ads displayed by Google AdMob or Yandex Mobile Ads. Advertisers are responsible for the content of their ads. We are not liable for products or services advertised by third parties.

5.3. Interacting with Ads

By interacting with ads (clicks, views), you are subject to the terms and policies of the respective advertising platforms and third parties.

6. Premium Features and Subscriptions

6.1. Advanced Features

Some advanced features of the App (advanced reports, data export, extended intake history, advanced scheduling) may be temporarily unlocked by watching rewarded ads.

6.2. Free Use

The basic features of the App are provided free of charge. The App contains a subscription screen that may offer premium features in the future.

6.3. Changes to the Monetization Model

We reserve the right to change the monetization model in future versions of the App, including adding paid subscriptions or in-app purchases. Any changes will be accompanied by an update to these Terms.

7. Device Permissions

By using the App, you agree that it requests the following permissions:

• Notifications — for medication, measurement, and visit reminders;
• Exact alarms — for timely reminder triggers;
• Boot on startup — for restoring reminders after reboot;
• Ignore battery optimization — to prevent missed reminders;
• Full-screen notifications — for displaying full-screen reminders;
• Camera — for photographing medications or profile images;
• Photo access — for selecting images from the gallery;
• Haptic feedback — for tactile confirmation of actions.

The App does not record audio and does not use the microphone.

You can revoke permissions in your device settings at any time. Revoking permissions may result in limited App functionality.

8. User Content

8.1. Content Responsibility

You are solely responsible for all content you enter into the App (medication names, dosages, notes, doctor contacts, images). We do not review or moderate user content.

8.2. Compliance with Laws

You agree not to enter content into the App that:

• Violates applicable law;
• Contains confidential information of third parties without their consent;
• Is offensive, defamatory, or illegal.

9. Privacy

The processing of your data is governed by a separate Privacy Policy. By using the App, you also agree to the terms of the Privacy Policy.

In particular: medical data is stored locally on your device; the App automatically sends only limited technical device data for installation registration and data processed by advertising SDKs, as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Intellectual Property

10.1. App Rights

The App, including its design, source code, graphics, icons, and texts, is protected by intellectual property laws. All rights belong to the App developer.

10.2. Third Parties

The App uses third-party libraries and SDKs, including but not limited to:

• Expo and React Native (Meta Platforms) — development framework;
• Google Mobile Ads (Google LLC) and Yandex Mobile Ads (Yandex) — advertising SDKs;
• expo-sqlite — local database engine;
• expo-notifications and react-native-notify-kit — local notifications;
• expo-haptics — haptic feedback;
• expo-image-picker — camera and gallery access;
• expo-document-picker, expo-print, expo-sharing — data import, report generation, and file sharing;
• react-native-quick-crypto — backup encryption;
• Lucide — icon library;
• react-native-gifted-charts — charting library;
• i18next — localization library.

The respective third-party licenses apply to their components.

11. Limitation of Liability

11.1. "As Is" Provision

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that:

• The App will operate error-free or continuously;
• Reminders will trigger on time 100% of the time;
• Data will not be lost due to device failures, OS updates, or other factors;
• The App is compatible with all devices and OS versions.

11.2. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided without any express or implied warranties, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement of third-party rights.

11.3. Limitation of Liability

Under no circumstances shall we be liable for:

• Direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the App;
• Data loss, including medical records, intake logs, and contacts;
• Missed reminders for medication intake, measurements, or doctor visits;
• Consequences of medical decisions made based on information in the App;
• Device failures, operating system updates, or conflicts with other apps.

11.4. Maximum Liability

The maximum liability of the App developer to any user shall not exceed the amount actually paid by the user for the App (which is zero if the App is provided free of charge).

12. Availability and Compatibility

12.1. Supported Platforms

The App supports:

• Android: version 8.0 (API 26) and above;
• iOS: version 15.0 and above.

12.2. Discontinuation of Support

We reserve the right to discontinue support for the App or any of its features at any time without prior notice.

13. App Updates

13.1. Automatic Updates

The App may be updated through the App Store or Google Play. Updates may include bug fixes, new features, or changes to existing functionality.

13.2. Changes to Functionality

We reserve the right to add, change, or remove features of the App in future updates without prior notice.

14. Age Restrictions

The App is not intended for use by persons under 13 years of age. By using the App, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old. If the App is used by a minor between 13 and 18 years of age, parental or legal guardian consent is required.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the App developer's country of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be resolved in the competent courts at the developer's place of residence.

16. Changes to the Terms

We reserve the right to change these Terms at any time. Changes will be communicated by updating the effective date at the beginning of the document. By continuing to use the App after the changes take effect, you agree to the updated Terms.

17. Termination of Use

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. Deleting the App will remove all local data without the possibility of recovery.

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to the App in the event of a breach of these Terms.
